Just an Artist Revisited project that was done in my junior year in art class.
I was going to draw myself in there, but my teacher said everyone does that. Try something different. What better than the Mona Lisa.
Great concept! Very nice shading on the hand. The distortion on the glode makes it look very real. The only thing that looks a bit odd are the fingers in the back (too thin, maybe?). It could just be me though. Great job!
Very nice performance. Nice tones and sense of depth.
Two things I just can't ignore: The hand is holding the ball in an upright position, yet in the reflection, mona is stretching her hand forward. What's more bothering is that a left hand is holding the ball, yet in the reflection - it's mona's RIGHT hand that is holding it...
Still, I'm not expected to draw like that in the near future
It does look incredibly 'Escher' like . The hand is especially good because hands can be incredibly difficult to do and you have achieved the wrinkles and dents beautifully. Love Eschers work and a great twist to one of his most famous drawings.
Brilliant!
I have to comment on your criticisms . Sorry . Firstly if you look at the original by Escher you wil see that the hand is exactly like that - going upwards....soits not really the artists fault . And secondly the image thats on the glass ball will be the opposte to her hand because its a mirrored ball, so the hands will be opposites...
LOL - I'm still stretching my hand forward, trying to understand how it should appear in real life...
Think I'll have to solve this issue with a mirror.. ha ha ha..
Whoops... my bad... it really got me confused.
I also found the original one by Escher and now I'm even more impressed with the performance!

Life is to short for French movies.
For the Hand and Globe - I used Eschers Original Picture.
And for Mona Lisa - I used....well A Picture of Mona Lisa.
