Sneaking ideas off old pictures is always one way to do it XD In any case, it turned out great.
That's what I'd say if I showed aspiring artists this image. *grins* Beyond that, it's too imaginative to require any "advanced critique" since it's your own individual piece. The anatomy looks fine, since the figure has to be out-of-focus anyway and the attention has to be on both the hand and the overall effect. (I'd reexamine those two finger tips that are extended the furtherest, tho', in relation to the others, and give the pinkie more noticeable joint-creases).
So that's my 2 cents.
Nice job, as always.
..Nice work. And still very Escher-esque.
I can't think of a title that wouldn't be totally lame, so I'm just not going to try there.
